And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Hughes looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Hughes wants to clinch up but Edwards keeps it at a distance.

and Hughes counters by moving into the clinch.
Hughes tries to land a knee to the head but Edwards blocks with his arms.

It looks like Juan Edwards has been cut.
Hughes throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Edwards blocks it with crossed arms.
Edwards jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hughes walks away with a smile on his face. Edwards gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Hughes throws a head kick but Edwards moves out of range.
Hughes tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Edwards holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Hughes keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Edwards's efforts to push away.
Hughes lands a knee to the head.
Hughes tries to land a knee to the head but Edwards blocks with his arms.

Edwards displaying some good clinch control by pressing Hughes up against the cage.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Edwards just misses with a elbow thrown towards Hughes's brow.
Edwards jumps guard but Hughes stands there with Edwards around his waist. Edwards gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Drew Hughes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Juan Edwards.
