Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bryce Gryce (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and evander holyshit (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gryce comes to the cage accompanied by Purple. evander holyshit will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, evander holyshit!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Alyssa Summers and Reed Andrews.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
holyshit avoids the body shot from Gryce.
holyshit tests Gryce's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Bryce Gryce seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
holyshit looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Gryce does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Gryce tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but holyshit was well out of range. Poor timing from Gryce.
Gryce moves out of range of the strikes.

holyshit drops Gryce with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Gryce looks back up at him and smiles so holyshit waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Gryce is rocked!

It looks like Bryce Gryce has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Gryce shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. holyshit defends it nicely.
Oh Gryce is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
holyshit throws a hook but Gryce blocks it.

Gryce seems to have got his legs back now.
Gryce can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as holyshit is looking to escape.

holyshit is working to get back to half guard.
holyshit wants to control but Gryce is having none of it.
holyshit is in a horrible position here. Gryce smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Gryce trying to control but he's not successful this time.
holyshit is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
holyshit is looking to improve his position but Gryce isn't that keen on the idea.
holyshit is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Gryce lands a big shot there that rocks holyshit but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
holyshit is bucking up trying to escape but Gryce cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Gryce is landing with some decent strikes but holyshit is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
holyshit is working to get back to half guard.
Gryce scores with a couple of good head shots there.

It looks like evander holyshit has been cut.
Gryce trying to control but holyshit is having none of it.
Gryce is landing with some decent strikes but holyshit is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if holyshit can do anything to dispel that myth.

Gryce throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Gryce sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
holyshit wants to control but Gryce is having none of it.
holyshit avoids a series of strikes thrown by Gryce.

Gryce cracks holyshit with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

The cut above evander holyshit's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
holyshit really wants to buck Gryce off and get back to his feet.

Gryce lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Gryce uses his free foot to push down on holyshit's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for holyshit.
Gryce has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
BOOM! Gryce connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Gryce looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
