Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Georgie Junior (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gene Mikami (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mikami has chosen Nujabes - Luv(sic) pt.2 as his entrance music. Gene Mikami is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Gene Mikami!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Taro Takaoka and Yukihiro Yamamoto.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mikami fails with the takedown.
Junior tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Junior throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Mikami shoots in looking for a takedown. Junior tries to sprawl out of it but Mikami keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Junior manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Junior slips a jab and a cross from Mikami.
Junior really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Junior drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Junior fails to land a wild elbow strike.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mikami is looking for a sweep.
Junior in side control, throwing shots but Mikami defends.
Junior is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Junior stands up and beckons Mikami to his feet.

Junior changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mikami looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Junior tries for a kimura but Mikami is defending well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mikami is letting Junior control him for a moment.

Mikami tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Junior presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Junior takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Mikami wants to control but Junior is having none of it.
Mikami wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Junior.
Junior wants to control the pace but Mikami is squirming around nicely.
Mikami is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Junior has control of Mikami's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Mikami regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Junior swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Mikami is now in Junior's guard. A big mistake from Junior there, giving up the dominant position!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Junior has his feet on Mikami's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Junior fails with an attempt to clinch.

Mikami throws a sloppy head kick and Junior moves out of range easily.

Mikami fails with the takedown

and Junior counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Mikami's guard now.
Mikami is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Junior is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Mikami scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Junior manages to mount him!
Mikami tries to reverse the position but Junior maintains control.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Junior tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Mikami is looking to improve his position but Junior isn't that keen on the idea.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Even with his hooks in, Junior manages to miss with strikes from the back.
Junior is trying to stick to Mikami's back but Mikami is turning into Junior. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Junior's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Mikami.

Mikami throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Junior stuffs the takedown.
Mikami shoots in but no luck this time.

Mikami wants to sweep here but Junior controlling him for the moment.

Mikami is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Junior defends well.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Mikami tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Junior smiles and moves away.
Georgie Junior has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gene Mikami.

Junior drives through and clinches with Mikami against the cage.

Junior has clasped his hands together around Mikami's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Junior goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Mikami rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Junior's guard! Nice work there by Mikami!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Mikami jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Junior walks away with a smile on his face. Mikami gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Junior shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Junior showed some decent athleticism there.

Mikami is looking to get back to full guard here but Junior has managed to pass to side control instead.
Georgie Junior is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Junior will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
