Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Elvis Blanc and Robert Douchet.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aoki slips under a jab from Funakoshi.
Aoki shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Funakoshi is trying to defend but Aoki finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Funakoshi wants to get back to his feet.
Aoki looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Aoki wants to pass to mount but Funakoshi is defending the position.
Aoki is thwarting Funakoshi's attempts to control the position.
Funakoshi is trying to stand back up but Aoki is controlling him
Funakoshi pushes Aoki off and gets back to his feet.
A looping hook to the body misses from Funakoshi. Aoki does a little dance to reset his feet.
Funakoshi misses with a looping right.
That's one minute gone in the round.
A swing and a miss from Funakoshi.
Aoki on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Aoki shoots in for a double leg but Funakoshi sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Aoki changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Funakoshi tries to avoid it but Aoki manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Funakoshi to the ground. Funakoshi escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Gichin Funakoshi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Funakoshi lands a right hook to the body.
Aoki shoots in looking for a takedown. Funakoshi tries to sprawl out of it but Aoki keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Funakoshi manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shinya Aoki. That's going to take a lot out of him.
A big right from Funakoshi misses.
Funakoshi lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Funakoshi uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Aoki has time to react.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Funakoshi fails to land with a series of punches.
Funakoshi looks to land a right hand but Aoki moved out of range.
Funakoshi lands a jab to the head.
Funakoshi throws a shot from downtown. Aoki moves away and avoids it.
Aoki shoots in for a takedown but Funakoshi shows good takedown defense.
Aoki is breathing heavily.
A punch combination from Funakoshi misses.
Funakoshi catches Aoki with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Aoki is rocked!
Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Funakoshi engages and cracks Aoki with a massive lead left hook - Aoki tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Funakoshi is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Gichin Funakoshi!
