Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Micky Mouse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Rotch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mouse comes to the cage accompanied by Die MF Die. The crowd seem to be enjoying Rotch's choice of entrance music: Why Cant we be Friends-War. Both these fighters are unbeaten, so somebody's 0 has got to go!I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Rotch!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Stewart Dunkirk and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mouse lands an overhand right.
Mouse swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Rotch avoids the body shot from Mouse.
Mouse misses with a double jab.
Good work by Rotch as he checks the leg kick.
Mouse fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Rotch is out of range.
Mouse misses with a jab, cross combination.
Rotch's corner calls for a 1-2. Rotch obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Rotch takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Mouse throws a low kick, looking for Rotch's leg but Rotch calmly moves out of range.
A jab lands there for Mouse.
Mouse swings for the body but Rotch moves out of range.
Mouse will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Mouse tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Mouse slips a jab and a cross from Rotch.
Mouse uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Rotch.
Mouse misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Rotch makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Micky Mouse seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rotch throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Mouse tries for a takedown but Rotch circles away easily
and Rotch cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

and Rotch counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Mouse swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Rotch counters with a left and a right that stings Mouse.
Mouse misses with a telegraphed body shot

and Rotch counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Mouse's guard now.

Rotch stands up and waves to Mouse to follow him.
Mouse dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Rotch. That did some damage!

This has been an exciting period of action!
Rotch wanted to stand there but Mouse had control of the position.

Mouse is looking for a triangle but Rotch pushes his legs off easily.

Mouse is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Rotch is aware though and is defending well.
Rotch wants to stand but Mouse is controlling his posture from full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Mouse is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Mouse throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Rotch decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Mouse's guard.

Mouse manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Mouse takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Mouse is landing with some decent strikes but Rotch is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Poor strikes thrown by Mouse there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Mouse goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Rotch turns into him and now he's in Mouse's guard.
Mouse is trying to hold Rotch in close to prevent damage but Rotch has managed to pass into half guard.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
It looks like Rotch is going to stand back up.
Mouse is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Mouse wants to control the action here but instead Rotch manages to pass to full mount!
Mouse is wriggling around trying to escape.
Mouse is trying to reverse the position but instead Rotch has taken his back - oops!
Mouse has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mouse is trying to stand back up.

Rotch is trying to stick to Mouse's back but Mouse is turning into Rotch. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Rotch's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Mouse.
Mouse throws a strike but Rotch rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Rotch stands and steps away. Mouse gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

and Rotch counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Mouse wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Rotch manages to pass to side control.

Rotch decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Mouse throws and low kick but Rotch moves out of range easily.
Mouse tries to clinch up.
Mouse throws a sloppy body shot
and Rotch counters with a left and a right that stings Mouse.
Mike Rotch seems to be getting the better of the standup.

and Rotch counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Mike Rotch showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rotch tries to stand and escape but Mouse is controlling the position.
Mouse tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Rotch has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

Mouse is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Rotch prevents Mouse from getting the reversal.
Mouse tries to lock up and control but Rotch gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Mouse tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Rotch was well out of range. Poor timing from Mouse.

and Rotch counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Rotch fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Rotch looks for a takedown but Mouse sprawls well.
Rotch scores to the head and body with a nice combination!

Rotch wants to stand but Mouse has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
