PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fatty McJitsu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anderson Cowell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anderson Cowell is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fatty McJitsu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anderson Cowell!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Seu Braga and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cowell shoots in and bounces McJitsu off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Cowell wants to control from the top but McJitsu keeps moving.
Cowell postures up.
McJitsu looking for a sweep. Not yet McJitsu, not yet.
Cowell trying to control but McJitsu is working from the bottom.
Cowell must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Cowell is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cowell drops back looking for a leg! McJitsu is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and McJitsu manages to kick Cowell off! Cowell jumps back into McJitsu's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cowell controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Let's hope that Cowell has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
McJitsu trying to keep a closed guard but Cowell is proving a slippery customer.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McJitsu is breathing heavily.
McJitsu keeping moving, preventing Cowell from controlling successfully.
Cowell controlling from the top position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Cowell's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Despite being in the dominant position, Anderson Cowell just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Cowell does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Cowell closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Cowell lands in his opponent's guard.
McJitsu keeping moving, preventing Cowell from controlling successfully.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cowell postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Cowell is pushing down on McJitsu's leg trying to pass to half guard. McJitsu is fighting to maintain full guard but Cowell has managed to sneak the leg through.
Cowell tries to pass the half guard into mount. McJitsu knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Cowell is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and McJitsu defends it well.
Cowell wants to pass the guard but McJitsu is defending well.
McJitsu wants to control but Cowell is keeping busy and won't allow it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
McJitsu blocking the ground and pound attempt from Cowell.

Cowell is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. McJitsu doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Cowell.
McJitsu is looking to control Cowell's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can McJitsu avoid being mounted?
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Cowell blocks the strikes from McJitsu.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Anderson Cowell dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!



Cowell closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming McJitsu to the mat! McJitsu manages to get full guard.
Cowell trying to control but McJitsu is working from the bottom.
Cowell is stalling in the full guard.

McJitsu is looking for a triangle but Cowell pushes his legs off easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

McJitsu is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
McJitsu is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Cowell controlling from the top position.
McJitsu is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Cowell controlling the position for now.
Cowell moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
McJitsu wants to stand but Cowell has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Cowell bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in McJitsu's guard.
McJitsu is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Cowell is controlling him.
Cowell controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cowell won't allow McJitsu to sweep him here.

Cowell drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Cowell jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

McJitsu has his feet on Cowell's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Cowell shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
McJitsu is looking to clinch.

Cowell fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. McJitsu sprawls well initially but Cowell persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Cowell is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for McJitsu!

It looks like Fatty McJitsu has been cut.

Cowell looking to isolate an arm here. McJitsu doesn't see it coming and as Cowell extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Cowell!
