Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Percy Rogers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and DJ Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rogers comes to the cage accompanied by Place for my Head. Penn comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Israel Kamakawiwo’ole kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! DJ Penn is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penn shoots in for a double leg but Rogers sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Penn tries for a takedown but Rogers sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Rogers is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Penn changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rogers tries to avoid it but Penn manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rogers to the ground. Rogers escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Percy Rogers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of DJ Penn.

Rogers rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Penn moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Rogers leaves Penn with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Penn feints and as Rogers raises his hands in defense, Penn changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Penn seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Rogers is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Penn is controlling him.

Penn tries to free his leg and advance position but Rogers is retaining full guard.
Penn postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Rogers can't keep his opponent in guard - Penn advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Penn seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rogers does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Penn is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
