PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Fabrice Prince (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and German Sheapard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Prince might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Muzion - La vi ti neg. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Fabrice Prince!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, German Sheapard!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Robert Douchet and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Prince avoids a punch combination nicely.
Fabrice Prince seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Prince throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sheapard's waist but Sheapard gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Prince off to one side.
Sheapard scores with a spinning back kick!
Prince shoots in for a double leg but Sheapard sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Prince has a takedown stuffed.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Fabrice Prince. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sheapard blocks a jab.
Prince moves in looking to clinch but Sheapard pushes him off.
Prince throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Sheapard counters with a head kick. That will keep Prince thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Prince looks to land a right hand but Sheapard moved out of range.
Sheapard tries to close the distance and clinch up but Prince swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Sheapard closes the distance and clinches up with Prince, looking for a takedown. Sheapard pushes Prince against the cage but Prince circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Prince is refusing to be controlled, as Sheapard sits in half guard.

Sheapard is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Sheapard trying to control the pace.
Prince wants to control but Sheapard is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Prince pushes Sheapard off looking to stand but Sheapard dives back in and keeps control.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Prince blocking the ground and pound attempt from Sheapard.
Sheapard is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Prince tries to get to full guard but Sheapard has control of the leg.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
The fighters circle momentarily. Prince darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Prince shoots and misses

and Sheapard counters with a takedown into side control.
Prince wants to get back to his feet but Sheapard drags him back down.

Sheapard fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Sheapard is trying to ground and pound but Prince uses the momentary lack of control by Sheapard to regain half guard.
Prince is trying to stand.
Sheapard wants to get back to his feet.
Sheapard throwing shots but Prince is blocking nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Sheapard wants to take a breather but Prince is having none of it.
Prince tries to kick Sheapard off but Sheapard keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
A punch lands to the side of Sheapard 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Prince tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sheapard swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Prince tries to clinch but Sheapard is having none of it.
Prince misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Prince looks to land a combination but Sheapard avoids it well.

Sheapard throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Prince was covering up waiting for the punch and Sheapard finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Sheapard looks gassed!
Prince seems keen to control Sheapard's posture.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

German Sheapard dominated that round.
That's time! Prince's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Prince fails to land with a series of punches.
Sheapard shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Prince as he jumps to the side.
Prince throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Sheapard counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Prince's guard now.
Sheapard controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Prince has his feet on Sheapard's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Prince tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Sheapard holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Prince tries to score a body lock takedown but Sheapard shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Sheapard jumps guard but Prince stands there with Sheapard around his waist. Sheapard gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Prince creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Sheapard breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Sheapard is breathing heavily.

Sheapard throws a nice looking combination but Prince bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Prince fails to land with a series of punches.
Sheapard swats away the attempt to clinch by Prince.
Prince clinches but Sheapard breaks the clinch

and Sheapard counters with a nice double leg into side control. Prince won't be happy with that.
Prince tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Sheapard looking to ground and pound but Prince is blocking nicely.
Prince is desperately trying to improve his position but Sheapard has a good base and remains in mount.
Sheapard wants to control the pace but Prince is squirming around nicely.

Prince tries to buck Sheapard off but he can't manage it.
Prince tries to hold on but Sheapard pushes him away.
Sheapard tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Prince bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Sheapard has momentary wrist control but Prince slips an elbow through the middle.
Sheapard is trying to keep Prince in close.
Prince advances to half guard.

Prince decides to stand and escape the position.

Prince lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Sheapard sprawling to the canvas. Prince follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Sheapard hang on?


Sheapard is rocked!


It looks like German Sheapard has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Prince wants to stand up but Sheapard is controlling the position.
German Sheapard has got the better of the ground game so far.

Prince decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Prince wants to clinch.
Sheapard displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Prince.
Prince closes the distance but Sheapard moves to the side

and Sheapard counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Prince's guard now.

Sheapard is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Prince is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Prince has escaped and now he's on top!
Prince wants to control from the top but Sheapard keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but German Sheapard will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The cut man is working on German Sheapard's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Prince fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Prince lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Sheapard avoids a punch combination nicely.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Prince manages to get back to half guard.
Sheapard prevents Prince from standing back up.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Prince shoots in looking for a takedown. Sheapard tries to sprawl out of it but Prince keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sheapard manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Prince wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Prince gets underhooks to prevent Sheapard's takedown attempt.
Prince wants to break the clinch but can't.
Sheapard has Prince pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Prince manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Prince pulls guard successfully.
Sheapard trying to control the position from guard on top but Prince is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Prince has a closed guard, preventing Sheapard from standing up.
Sheapard prevents Prince from getting back to his feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
Fabrice Prince showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Sheapard has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
