The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simpson connects with the punch.
Perry misses with a wild combination.

Simpson drops Perry with a left right combo! Simpson follows him down to the ground into side control.

Perry is rocked!
Perry managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Simpson.
Oh Perry is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Simpson working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.

Simpson wants to finish this one by submission but Perry is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Simpson.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Perry is bucking up trying to escape but Simpson cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Simpson mounts Perry! Really nice guard pass there!

Simpson is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Perry has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Perry knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Simpson on the ground.
Perry tries to buck Simpson off but he can't manage it.
Simpson lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Perry defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Simpson.

Poor strikes thrown by Simpson there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Simpson jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Perry manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Simpson is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Perry is trying to escape and Simpson transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Perry is forced to tap! Nice work there by Simpson! Very nice indeed!
