The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sherk swats away the attempt to clinch by Sadona.

Sadona moves into the clinch.
Sadona goes for a takedown in the clinch but Sherk prevents it.

Sherk works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Sadona looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Sherk trying to control but Sadona is working from the bottom.
Sherk looking to sit in guard and control but Sadona gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Sadona tries to free his leg and advance position but Sherk is retaining full guard.

Sadona gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Sadona shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Sherk pinned against the cage. Sherk gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Sadona darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Sherk is trying to stand up here but Sadona is controlling him well.
Sadona content to control rather than advance.

Sherk wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Sadona trying to mount his opponent but Sherk defends it.
Sherk is not content to let Sadona control the position.
Sadona tries to pass to full mount but Sherk defends it.
Sadona throwing shots but Sherk is blocking nicely.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Sadona feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Sherk wants to stand but Sadona is controlling the position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sherk can do anything to dispel that myth.
Sadona passes into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Sherk wants to get back to his feet.
Sherk looks gassed!
Sadona lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Sadona is looking to take a break and control but Sherk is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
