Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sergei Sagat!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Piotr Rasputin!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Igor Prikhodko and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rasputin lands with a nice body punch.
Rasputin moves into range and connects with a jab.
Sagat takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Sagat slips a jab from Rasputin.
Some wild striking there from Rasputin.
Sagat moves away from the strike by Rasputin.
Sagat slips a jab and a cross from Rasputin.
Rasputin thuds his right hand into Sagat's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Sagat.
Sagat avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Sagat fails to land the takedown.
Rasputin throws an overhand right that lands on Sagat's shoulder, as Sagat tries to avoid the shot.
Sagat shoots for a takedown but Rasputin saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sergei Sagat. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sagat is breathing heavily.
Rasputin throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Rasputin waves his right hand out infront of him, looking to distract Sagat. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Sagat to the canvas! Can he finish him!?


Sagat is rocked!


It looks like Sergei Sagat has been cut.
Sagat wants to hit a switch here but Rasputin passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Sagat there!
Oh Sagat is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Rasputin throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Poor strikes thrown by Rasputin there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Sagat seems to have got his legs back now.
Rasputin looking to control and managing it successfully.
Rasputin thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Let's hope that Rasputin has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Sagat is wriggling around trying to escape.

Sagat avoids a series of strikes thrown by Rasputin.
Rasputin controlling from mount.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Sagat really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Rasputin sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Despite being in the dominant position, Piotr Rasputin just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Sagat uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Rasputin.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Danga de danga de dang - Rasputin scores with a four punch combination!
Rasputin jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Rasputin comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Rasputin throws a nice looking combination but Sagat bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Sagat slips a jab and a cross from Rasputin.
Sagat will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Rasputin throws a shot from downtown. Sagat moves away and avoids it.
Rasputin misses with a few strikes there.
Sagat shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rasputin as he jumps to the side.
Rasputin misses with a two punch combination.
Sagat tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rasputin swivels and escapes.
Rasputin swats away the attempt to clinch by Sagat.
Rasputin misses with a two punch combination.
Piotr Rasputin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Sagat tries to clinch up.
Rasputin misses with a series of wild punches.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Sagat. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Rasputin connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Piotr Rasputin dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Sergei Sagat's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Sagat bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Rasputin works Sagat's body with a nice hook.
Rasputin waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Sagat.
Rasputin defending well as Sagat loads up on a big left hand.
Rasputin scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Rasputin connects with a good right hand that stumbles Sagat. Sagat circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Rasputin cracks Sagat with a hook to the temple - Sagat is on wobbly legs here! Rasputin swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Sagat falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Rasputin wins by TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Piotr Rasputin!
