Escandon has chosen Knock The Black Off Yo Ass by Three 6 Mafia as his entrance music. Alex Homether is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Homether looks to land a combination but Escandon avoids it well.
Homether misses with a body shot.
Homether rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Escandon moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Homether throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Homether throws a series of punches but Escandon avoids them all with ease.
Escandon misses the jab.
Homether swings for the body but Escandon moves out of range.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Escandon is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Escandon throws a sloppy head kick and Homether moves out of range easily.
Alex Homether seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Homether drops Escandon with a right and a left! Homether comes rushing in but Escandon regains his composure and manages to keep Homether in guard.

It looks like Ruben Escandon has been cut.
Homether trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Escandon working for submissions but it's allowed Homether to get to half guard.

Escandon is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Homether pulls his head out easily.

Escandon is pressing down on Homether's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Escandon is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Homether will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Homether is looking to take a break and control but Escandon is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Homether uses his free foot to push down on Escandon's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Escandon.

Homether's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Homether duly obliges.
Homether lands a nice shot that snaps Escandon's head back.
Escandon is still on wobbly legs! Can Homether finish him?

Homether lands with a right that hurts Escandon. Escandon looks to clinch but Homether throws a short knee that drops Escandon. This one is all over!
