Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Austin Ferguson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Major (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Austin Ferguson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Major!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Paulsen Ambrosius and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ferguson moves into the clinch.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Major throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
The fight stays on the outside here - Major looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Major fails with the takedown

and Ferguson counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Ferguson is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Ferguson is breathing heavily.
Major keeping full guard, as Ferguson tries to pass.
Major manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ferguson manages to get himself to full guard.

Ferguson manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Major is desperately trying to improve his position but Ferguson has a good base and remains in mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Major is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Ferguson trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Major is trying to escape the mount.
Major wants to hold on but Ferguson pushes him away.
Major is wriggling around trying to escape.
Major throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.
Ferguson wants to control the pace but Major is squirming around nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Ferguson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Ferguson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Ferguson tries a head kick but it misses.
Major ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

and Ferguson counters with a nice body kick.
Austin Ferguson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Major stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Ferguson leaves Major with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Austin Ferguson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Major.
Ferguson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Major sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ferguson somewhat.

Major connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Ferguson momentarily.
Major shoots for a double leg takedown but Ferguson sprawls well. He's pushed Major's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Major is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

Nice sprawl there from Ferguson as Major shoots in.
Major misses with an uppercut. Ferguson saw that one coming.

Ferguson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Major was covering up waiting for the punch and Ferguson finishes the takedown easily into guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Major lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Ferguson wants to take a breather but Major is having none of it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Major throws a body punch but Ferguson moves out of range.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Major misses with a wild body shot.
Major closes the distance and clinches up with Ferguson, looking for a takedown. Major pushes Ferguson against the cage but Ferguson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
John Major seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Major throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Major showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Ferguson digs a good hook to Major's body.

Ferguson stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Major misses with a low kick.
Major comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Major is looking to clinch but Ferguson is avoiding it.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Major connects with a good right hand that stumbles Ferguson. Ferguson circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Major doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Ferguson decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Major's guard.
Major wants to sweep here but Ferguson controlling him for the moment.

Ferguson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Major, up you get!
Ferguson throws the kick towards the body but Major avoids it.

and Ferguson holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Major is trying to control the position but Ferguson postures up.
Major bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ferguson's guard.
Ferguson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Ferguson works his foot free and advances to mount.
Major is in all sorts of trouble here.
Austin Ferguson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Ferguson breaks from Major's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Major sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Ferguson throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Major makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Major.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Major is on top in guard.

Major wants to stand but Ferguson is controlling his posture from full guard.
Major throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Ferguson is looking to get back to is feet but Major passes into side control.
Ferguson is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Major is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Austin Ferguson showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Ferguson has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
