The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomez throws a series of punches but Nelson avoids them all with ease.
Gomez misses with a jab, cross combination.

Nelson closes the distance and clinches.
Nelson tries for a takedown. No joy.
Gomez has had enough of the clinch but Nelson keeps him there for the moment.
A frustrated look appears on Gomez's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Gomez avoids the elbow strike from Nelson, against the ropes.
Gomez wants to break free but Nelson has control.
Nelson has Gomez pressed up against the ropes and is working for takedown. Gomez manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Gomez wants to break the clinch but can't.
Nelson prevents Gomez from breaking the clinch.

Nelson ties up his opponent against the ropes and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Nelson no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Nelson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Gomez defends it easily.
Gomez wants to get up but he can't break Nelson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Nelson has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Gomez should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Nelson has tightened it up now! Gomez should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
