Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Todd Thain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Renaldo Rodrigo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thain kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Cypress Hill: Insane In The Brain. Renaldo Rodrigo has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodrigo pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Rodrigo misses with a looping right.
Thain stuffs the takedown attempt from Rodrigo. Rodrigo gets slowly back to his feet.

It looks like Todd Thain has been cut.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Thain is defended easily by Rodrigo.
Thain fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

and Rodrigo counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Rodrigo connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Rodrigo throws a hook to the side of Thain's head but Thain sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Rodrigo decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Thain stuffs the takedown attempt from Rodrigo. Rodrigo gets slowly back to his feet.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Thain.
Rodrigo regains half guard there - taking advantage of Thain's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rodrigo is trying to maintain the position but Thain is very close to passing his half guard.
Rodrigo wants to get back to his feet.
Thain is trying to work for a kimura but Rodrigo is defending well.

Thain is looking to take a break and control but Rodrigo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Rodrigo stuffs the takedown attempt from Thain. Thain gets slowly back to his feet.

Rodrigo lands a nice hook to Thain's body. Thain takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Rodrigo throws a series of punches but Thain avoids them all with ease.
Rodrigo closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Rodrigo jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Rodrigo looks to throw the jab but Thain is out of range.
Nice takedown defense from Rodrigo. No joy for Thain on that attempt.
Rodrigo throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Thain sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Thain ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Thain tries to move into range but Rodrigo moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Thain scores with the left hand. Rodrigo knows he should have avoided that one.

Thain fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
The fighters circling - Thain throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Thain is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Rodrigo pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Thain fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Rodrigo.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Rodrigo wants to clinch.
Rodrigo looks to land a combination but Thain avoids it well.

Rodrigo throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Thain on the side of the head.
Todd Thain's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
No joy there for Rodrigo, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Thain throws a low kick but Rodrigo avoids it.
Renaldo Rodrigo seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Rodrigo might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Thain is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Rodrigo defends it well.
Thain seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Rodrigo is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
