PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andre Tolstoy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roger Lorenzo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Tolstoy might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Prong - Snap Your Fingers, Snap Your Neck. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Andre Tolstoy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Roger Lorenzo!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Matheus Silva and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tolstoy tries to clinch up.

Tolstoy closes the distance and clinches.
Tolstoy lands a nice shot to the body.
Tolstoy wants to break free but Lorenzo has control.
Tolstoy digs a right hand into Lorenzo's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Lorenzo's gas tank.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Tolstoy manages to break the clinch.
Lorenzo takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Tolstoy shoots in for a double leg but Lorenzo sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Andre Tolstoy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lorenzo tries to move into range but Tolstoy moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Tolstoy lands a left and a right that send Lorenzo crashing to the mat, dazed. Tolstoy thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


It looks like Roger Lorenzo has been cut.
Lorenzo throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Tolstoy changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Lorenzo looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Lorenzo takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Tolstoy trying to control the action but Lorenzo is working from the bottom.
Tolstoy grinds an elbow into Lorenzo's temple.

Tolstoy in side control lands a decent elbow.
Lorenzo is looking for a sweep.

Tolstoy has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Lorenzo ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Tolstoy shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lorenzo sprawls well. Lorenzo wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Tolstoy gets slowly back to his feet.
Lorenzo stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Lorenzo wants it to stay on the feet.

Tolstoy tries to close the distance and clinch but Lorenzo swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

A punch lands to the side of Tolstoy 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Tolstoy shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lorenzo holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Tolstoy tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Lorenzo is wriggling around trying to escape.
Tolstoy blocks Lorenzo's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Tolstoy throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
Lorenzo is desperately trying to improve his position but Tolstoy has a good base and remains in mount.
Poor strikes thrown by Tolstoy there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Tolstoy is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Lorenzo is surviving well by controlling Tolstoy's body position as best he can.

Lorenzo tries to roll over but Tolstoy keeps him under control.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Lorenzo is looking to control Tolstoy's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Lorenzo avoid being mounted?
Tolstoy is pressing down on Lorenzo's thigh, looking to free his foot. Lorenzo is holding on for now.
Lorenzo wants to get back to full guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Lorenzo bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Tolstoy's guard.

Tolstoy swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Tolstoy keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Tolstoy shoots in looking for a takedown. Lorenzo tries to sprawl out of it but Tolstoy keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lorenzo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Lorenzo tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Lorenzo has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Lorenzo looks up at the clock and then as Tolstoy takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Lorenzo smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Lorenzo is going olschool here, as he tries to force Tolstoy to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Tolstoy shrugs it off.
