Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Edi Hyde (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jordan Halperin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Edi Hyde could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Jordan Halperin's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Edi Hyde!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jordan Halperin!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Tiny Johnson and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Halperin shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hyde pinned against the cage. Hyde gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Hyde could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Hyde gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Halperin counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Halperin throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Hyde gets a takedown into half guard.
Halperin trying to control but Hyde postures up.
Halperin works his way to full guard. Good work.
Hyde throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Halperin works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Hyde has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Halperin is trying to control the position but Hyde postures up.
Halperin wants to get back to his feet but Hyde is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Halperin manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Halperin lands a big shot there that rocks Hyde but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Halperin trying to control but Hyde is having none of it.
Hyde tries to hold on but Halperin postures up.
Hyde knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Halperin on the ground.
Hyde is squirming around, avoiding Halperin's attempts to control the action.
Hyde wants to control but Halperin is having none of it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Halperin throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Halperin can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hyde is looking to escape.
Halperin punching from mount but Hyde doing a good job of avoiding damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Halperin wants to control the pace but Hyde is squirming around nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hyde tries to lock up and control but Halperin gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Hyde blocking the ground and pound.

Halperin is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Hyde can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Halperin can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hyde is looking to escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jordan Halperin dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Hyde changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Halperin looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Halperin manages to get back to half guard.
Halperin is looking to escape.
Halperin trying to control but Hyde postures up.
Halperin is trying to stand.
Halperin gets back to full guard.

Hyde avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Halperin is breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Hyde postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Halperin is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hyde, into his guard.
Halperin wants to control from the top but Hyde keeps moving.
Hyde is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Halperin throws a big right hand that misses.
Hyde is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Halperin wants to stand but Hyde is controlling his posture from full guard.
Hyde wants to hit a switch here but Halperin passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Hyde there!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Halperin trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Halperin unloads with some shots from mount but Hyde bucks and avoids them well.
Halperin can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hyde is looking to escape.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Despite being in the dominant position, Jordan Halperin just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Hyde closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Halperin keeping control of the position.
Halperin is looking to control Hyde's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Halperin avoid being mounted?
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Edi Hyde will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Hyde has his takedown stuffed
and Halperin counters with a stiff right hand.
Halperin is looking to clinch but Hyde is avoiding it.
Hyde dives in and grabs Halperin's left leg, looking for a takedown. Halperin pushes down on Hyde's head and hops out.

and Hyde counters with a shoot takedown. Halperin fights it but they end up in guard.
Hyde is fighting to break Halperin's control of his arms but Halperin is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Halperin is looking to sinch up a triangle. Hyde throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Halperin's body to avoid the submission. Halperin has instead reached around Hyde's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Halperin arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:45 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Jordan Halperin!
