PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hanzo Hasashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexandre Ribeiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hasashi kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Into the Battlefield. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ribeiro works over Hasashi's head and body with a nice combination.
Hasashi uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Ribeiro.

Ribeiro gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Hasashi to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Hasashi passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Hasashi trying to control the action but Ribeiro is working from the bottom.

Hasashi wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Ribeiro, who protects the arm well.
Ribeiro is trying to get back to half guard.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Ribeiro regains half guard there - taking advantage of Hasashi's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

Hasashi is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Ribeiro regains full guard. Nicely done.
Hasashi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ribeiro swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Ribeiro wants to sweep here but Hasashi controlling him for the moment.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Hasashi stays in close to Ribeiro's body and controls the position.

Hasashi wants to control but Ribeiro is keeping him busy.

Hasashi has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Ribeiro!
Hasashi tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Ribeiro is wriggling around trying to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hasashi trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Ribeiro is working to get back to half guard.

Hasashi is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Ribeiro is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Ribeiro flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Hasashi anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Ribeiro and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Hasashi slips an arm under Ribeiro chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Hasashi has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Hasashi is squeezing on Ribeiro like an anaconda would it's prey. Ribeiro fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
