The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

bazilla is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Durden is just riding it out for now. bazilla eventually gives up the hold.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
bazilla wants to control from the top but Durden keeps moving.
bazilla has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Durden is proving hard to escape from.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

bazilla escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Durden gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Durden avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Durden tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. bazilla just stands there and leans against the cage.
bazilla really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Durden fails to pull the fight into his guard.
bazilla tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Durden smiles and moves away.
bazilla misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

bazilla feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

bazilla's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

bazilla looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Durden with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

bazilla takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

bazilla working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Durden doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but bazilla is tightening it up a little... Durden has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Durden reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Durden taps out! nice BJJ there by bazilla!
