The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Payne looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
nopestilldont landing some nice looking knees to the body.

nopestilldont escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Payne fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. nopestilldont sprawls well initially but Payne persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
nopestilldont keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Payne prevents nopestilldont from improving his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
nopestilldont trying to control but Payne postures up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Payne tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if nopestilldont can do anything to dispel that myth.
