The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akiyama will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Murdoch throws a sloppy head kick and Akiyama moves out of range easily.
Akiyama misses with a straight left.
Akiyama on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Akiyama throws a shot from downtown. Murdoch moves away and avoids it.
Murdoch lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Akiyama circles away quickly and effectively.
Murdoch takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Akiyama takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Nice uppercut lands for Akiyama. That snapped Murdoch's head back.
Murdoch scores with a head kick.
Akiyama uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Murdoch checks a low kick from Akiyama.
Murdoch wants to clinch.
Akiyama does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Nice shot lands for Akiyama.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Murdoch counters with a left and a right that stings Akiyama.
Akiyama walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Murdoch checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Akiyama tries a low kick but Murdoch avoids it.
Murdoch lands a head shot.
Akiyama avoids the head kick by Murdoch.
Akiyama throws an overhand right that lands on Murdoch's shoulder, as Murdoch tries to avoid the shot.

Murdoch moves out of range of the leg kick from Akiyama.
Akiyama takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Akiyama is rocked!
Murdoch lands with a right and another and another! Akiyama is in big trouble! Murdoch lands again and this time it's lights out for Akiyama! A quality knockout there for Murdoch.
