The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chakka is looking to clinch but Parise is avoiding it.
Chakka will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
The crowd cheers as Parise lands an impressive looking overhand right. Chakka doesn't seem phased though.

It looks like Don Chakka has been cut.
Chakka drops his hands momentarily and Parise takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Parise ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Parise avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Parise lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Parise connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Chakka tries to clinch but Parise is having none of it.
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Parise has cracked Chakka with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Parise lands another huge swinging hook and Chakka tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Chakka, before Parise can land any more shots!
