Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bas Tard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Woleman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bas Tard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mark Woleman!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shirou Masuda and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Woleman fails to land with a series of punches.
A big right from Woleman misses.
Woleman is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Tard wants to clinch.
Woleman closes this distance looking for a takedown but Tard circles away.
Tard with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Woleman to score with a decent uppercut.
Tard fails in his attempt to clinch.
Tard tries to clinch there but Woleman circles away.
Tard tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Woleman changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Tard looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Woleman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Tard keeps working.
Woleman in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Tard is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Tard is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Woleman scores with a couple of nice shots.

Woleman winds up and cracks Tard with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Tard has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Woleman is working away from the top position though.

Woleman throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Tard takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Woleman looks to land a combination but Tard avoids it well.
A telegraphed right hand from Woleman misses the target.
Tard tries to close the distance and clinch up but Woleman swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Woleman throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Woleman fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Woleman throws a right and a left that both miss.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Woleman.
Bas Tard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Woleman.

Woleman shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Tard is looking for a sweep. Woleman is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Tard is trying to stand back up but Woleman is controlling him
Woleman misses with a head shot. Tard uses the momentum to regain guard.

Woleman is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Woleman loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Woleman trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Tard is trying to keep Woleman in close.

Tard avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Tard avoids a punch combination nicely.
Woleman slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Woleman swats away the attempt to clinch by Tard.
Woleman fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Tard walks into a left hand.
No luck for Tard with that takedown attempt.
Tard tries to score a power double leg takedown but Woleman sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Tard somewhat.
Woleman displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Tard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Woleman cracks a nice hook into Tard's ribs.

Woleman drives through with a takedown into guard.
Woleman lands a couple of digs.
Tard is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Woleman trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Woleman accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Tard keeping moving, preventing Woleman from controlling successfully.
Woleman is looking to work some ground and pound but Tard has wrist control.
Tard might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Tard utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mark Woleman dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Woleman doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Tard counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Woleman!
A nice elbow there by Tard.
Tard lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Tard looking to ground and pound but Woleman is blocking nicely.
Tard lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Woleman is desperately trying to improve his position but Tard has a good base and remains in mount.
Tard lands with some strikes.
Woleman working to try and regain half guard.
Woleman sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Tard wants to pass to mount but Woleman is defending the position.
Woleman keeps control of the position for the meantime.

Woleman is breathing heavily.
Tard missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Tard is trying to control the action in half guard but Woleman is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Woleman closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Tard wants to control but Woleman is keeping busy.

Woleman is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Tard trying to control but Woleman postures up.

Tard is looking to escape.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Woleman swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Tard counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Woleman is working on a single leg takedown against the ropes. Tard can't fight it off and eventually Woleman manages to take the fight to the floor. Tard looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Tard has Woleman pulled in close to control his posture.
Woleman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tard swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Woleman throws a strike but Tard rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Tard thows a big elbow that misses.

Woleman wants to sweep but no luck.
Tard is working Woleman over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Woleman looking to hit a scissor sweep but Tard is one step ahead there.
Tard trying to control the position from guard on top but Woleman is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Woleman connects with a body shot.
Tard keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bas Tard dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!



Woleman gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Woleman is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Woleman might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Tard kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Woleman controls Tard momentarily but Tard frees himself.
Woleman is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Woleman takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Woleman wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Woleman keeps the fight on the outside.
Woleman takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Woleman misses the jab.
Tard is pinned up against the ropes taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Woleman is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

Tard moves into the clinch.
Woleman stops a takedown attempt from Tard.

Woleman has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Tard clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Woleman lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Tard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Tard rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Tard wants to get back to full guard.
Tard on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Tard tries to get out of the position.
Tard avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Woleman.
Tard is trying to control but can't.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Woleman avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Woleman scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Woleman thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Tard's head.
Woleman looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Tard with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Woleman goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Woleman lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Tard circles away quickly and effectively.
Woleman fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Woleman connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
No luck for Woleman with that takedown attempt.
Tard wants to clinch.
Tard is looking to clinch but Woleman is avoiding it.

Woleman shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Woleman was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Tard wants to hold on but Woleman pushes him away.
Woleman has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
The referee warns Tard that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Woleman lands a heavy elbow.
Tard is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Woleman avoids the attempt from Tard to control.

And that's the end of the fight!
Mark Woleman comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Woleman has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
