Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Aaron Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyson Rios (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rios has chosen Their Law as his entrance music. Tyson Rios will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Aaron Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tyson Rios!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Hirohito Nitta and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rios shoots in for a takedown but Gracie shows good takedown defense.

Gracie shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Rios is trying to defend but Gracie finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Rios is defending against the submission attempts here by Gracie.

Gracie is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Rios sees it coming and defends easily.
Rios is looking to improve his position.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Gracie is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Gracie seems to be working for a kimura but Rios defends the submission attempt.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Gracie looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Gracie is working for a submission of some sort.

Gracie wants to work for an arm triangle but Rios is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Rios looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Rios pushes Gracie off and gets back to his feet.
Gracie tries for a takedown but Rios circles away easily

and Rios counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Gracie looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Gracie working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rios doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Rios manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Gracie looking to hit a scissor sweep but Rios is one step ahead there.
Rios really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gracie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Gracie has his foot on Rios's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Rios works his way back into a safe position though.
Rios scoring with punches to the head and body.

Gracie escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Rios gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Gracie is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Rios is aware though and is defending well.
Gracie is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Aaron Gracie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tyson Rios.

Rios striking off his back but it's not causing Gracie any problems.

Gracie drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Gracie seems to have locked his on tight now - Rios screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Gracie, as he picks up the win!
