PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gold Mine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marvin Jab (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mine comes to the cage accompanied by Kardinal Offishall - Ol' Time Killin' . Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gold Mine!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Marvin Jab!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Albert Achterberg and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mine shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Jab.
Jab tries to close the distance and clinch but Mine swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Jab tries to clinch but Mine is having none of it.

Jab drives through and clinches with Mine against the cage.
Mine tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Jab smiles and moves away.
Jab lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mine circles away quickly and effectively.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mine avoids the head kick by Jab.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jab blocks a head kick by Mine.
Mine really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Mine has Jab up against the cage in a clinch.
Jab is trying to stall.

Mine escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Mine checks a leg kick.
Jab misses with a leg kick.
Mine throws a leg kick but Jab sees it coming and moves out of range.
Jab tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Mine counters with a nice double leg into guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mine wants to pass the guard but Jab is keeping the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mine is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Jab isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Mine stacks Jab on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Mine!
Mine trying to control the action but Jab is working from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jab manages to get back to half guard.
Jab is not content to let Mine control the position.
Jab moves into full guard.
Mine looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Mine wants to control from the top but Jab keeps moving.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Jab working for a triangle but Mine defends it easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jab looks gassed!

Jab is looking for a triangle here but Mine uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Jab is trying to buck Mine off.
Jab is looking for a sweep.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gold Mine dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Mine blocks a low kick nicely.
Jab throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Mine circles away from the clinch attempt.
Jab lands a nice leg kick that just misses Mine's sensitive parts.
Mine shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jab as he avoids it easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jab ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mine moves away.
Jab is breathing heavily.
Mine swats away the attempt to clinch by Jab.
Marvin Jab is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A slapping leg kick lands for Mine.
Jab lands with a nice combination. Mine backs away looking to recover.
Mine is looking to chop away at Jab's legs.
Jab tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Mine moves into the clinch.
Jab wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Mine pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Mine chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Jab can pounce on him.

and Mine counters with a crisp one two that drops Jab! Mine thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Jab to his feet! Jab is in big trouble!


Jab is rocked!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Mine closes the distance looking for a takedown. Jab stuffs it but Mine still has hold of him. Mine picks Jab up in a fireman's lift! The crowd roars in approval. Mine slams Jab to the floor and that's really hurt Jab - he doesn't know where he is! Mine throws a couple of strikes and the referee steps in to save him! This one is in the books!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Gold Mine!
