Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Vitor Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dynamite Roll!
The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roll misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Gracie.
Roll looks to land a left hand but Gracie moved out of range nicely.
Roll scores with a decent looking hook.
Nice sprawl there from Gracie as Roll shoots in.
Gracie defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Roll.

Gracie looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Roll!
Roll manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Roll looks like he's trying to stand up.
Roll is trying to get back to full guard.
Roll wants to get back to his feet.

Gracie is working for a kimura but Roll is defending it quite comfortably.

Roll throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Gracie.

and Gracie counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Gracie shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Roll napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Roll tries to buck Gracie off but Gracie is having none of it.

Gracie swings around for an armbar but Roll sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Gracie's guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Roll wants to control from the top but Gracie keeps moving.

Gracie is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Roll with a flurry of punches that miss.
Roll wants to stand but Gracie is controlling his posture from full guard.

Roll avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Gracie looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Roll passes into side control.
Roll cracks Gracie with a big elbow.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dynamite Roll seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Gracie wants to pass the guard but Roll is keeping the position.
Roll can't keep his opponent in guard - Gracie advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Roll desperately trying to maintain half guard.

Gracie is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Gracie is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Roll has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Gracie is working away from the top position though.
Gracie looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Roll is defending against the submission attempts here by Gracie.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Gracie prevents Roll from improving his position.
Roll keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Roll shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Roll is looking to clinch but Gracie is avoiding it.

Roll closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Roll misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

and Gracie counters with a nice uppercut.
Roll swings for the body but Gracie moves out of range.

Vitor Gracie is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Gracie will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
