The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Silva misses the jab.
Silva throws an overhand right that lands on Saint Pierre's shoulder, as Saint Pierre tries to avoid the shot.

Saint Pierre shoots in and bounces Silva off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Saint Pierre loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Saint Pierre missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Saint Pierre keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Silva's head.

Saint Pierre postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Silva is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Saint Pierre, into his guard.

Silva really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Saint Pierre. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Saint Pierre is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Saint Pierre is looking for a triangle but Silva pushes his legs off easily.

Saint Pierre working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Silva doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Silva manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Saint Pierre tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Silva wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Silva decides to stand back up. Silva steps back and let's Saint Pierre get back to his feet.
Saint Pierre uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Silva.
Rodrigo Silva is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Silva loads up on a big right hand but Saint Pierre slips the punch.
Rodrigo Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Silva tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Silva scores with a sloppy right hand. Saint Pierre should have avoided that one.

It looks like Minotauro Saint Pierre has been cut.

Silva cracks Saint Pierre with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Saint Pierre looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Silva finish him?

Silva tries to clinch up but Saint Pierre circles away and keeps his distance.
Silva lands with a massive overhand right! Stick a fork in Saint Pierre - he's out cold! Ermm... I think I just mixed my metaphors but yeah... That was a nice KO! Big win for Silva!
