The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Okusaka walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

It looks like Richard Okusaka has been cut.
Fred Thompson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Okusaka uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Thompson.
Thompson throws out a loose jab but Okusaka uses good head movement to avoid it.
Thompson slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Thompson scores with a sloppy right hand. Okusaka should have avoided that one.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Thompson jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Okusaka moves away from the strike by Thompson.
Okusaka tries to move into range but Thompson moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

That has opened up Richard Okusaka's cut even more.
Okusaka should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Thompson throws a shot from downtown. Okusaka moves away and avoids it.
Thompson jabbing away but nothing is landing.
A telegraphed right hand from Thompson misses the target.
Thompson lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Okusaka falls backwards - clearly groggy! Thompson dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!
