The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown looks to throw the jab but Mccaughan is out of range.
Mccaughan takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Brown throws a shot from downtown. Mccaughan moves away and avoids it.
Brown swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Mccaughan feints and as Brown raises his hands in defense, Mccaughan changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Brown will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Mccaughan shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Mccaughan throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Brown's waist but Brown gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mccaughan off to one side.

Brown stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Brown lands with a big left! Mccaughan is wobbled badly! Brown comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Mccaughan to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.
