Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mahdi Makungu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hajime Susumu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Makungu's entrance music is Nelly - Heart of a Champion. A fine choice. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mahdi Makungu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

6 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hajime Susumu!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Damien Edna and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Susumu throws a wild body kick that Makungu sees coming a mile off.
Susumu takes one on the button.
Susumu displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Makungu throws out the jab.
Susumu tries to score with a low kick but Makungu moves his leg out of the way.
Susumu staying out of range there.
Susumu uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Makungu.
Makungu sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Susumu walks into a left hand.
Susumu clinches up with Makungu and pushes him back against the cage.
Makungu's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Makungu swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Makungu throws a shot from downtown. Susumu moves away and avoids it.
Makungu takes a swing at Susumu's ribcage but misses.

Susumu buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Mahdi Makungu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Makungu throws out a loose jab but Susumu uses good head movement to avoid it.
Mahdi Makungu is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Makungu lands a really nice looking cross but Susumu seems unphased.
Makungu throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Susumu sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Makungu swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Susumu.
Makungu swings for the body but Susumu moves out of range.

Susumu's corner calls for a 1-2. Susumu obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Makungu tries to move into range but Susumu moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Makungu throws a hook to the side of Susumu's head but Susumu sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Susumu fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Susumu is looking to clinch but Makungu is avoiding it.

Makungu swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Makungu throws a right hand that Susumu ducks under and follows up with a left that Susumu also avoids with ease.
Makungu misses with a wild body shot.
Makungu misses with an uppercut. Susumu saw that one coming.
Makungu cracks Susumu with a good jab.
Makungu is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Susumu takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Susumu is rocked!

Makungu throws a hook to the side of Susumu's head but Susumu sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Susumu is still on wobbly legs! Can Makungu finish him?
Susumu blocks a jab.
Susumu misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Susumu seems to have recovered his senses.
Makungu throws the left hand but Susumu avoids the punch easily.
Makungu swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Makungu throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Susumu stumbling backwards into the cage! Susumu bounces back off the cage towards Makungu, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Makungu lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Makungu celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Mahdi Makungu!
