Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Izakawa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt Jared (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Izakawa is looking to slow Jared down with leg kicks.
Jared looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Izakawa wants to clinch up but Jared keeps it at a distance.
Izakawa stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Izakawa wants it to stay on the feet.
Izakawa shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Jared defends it nicely.
Jared takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Matt Jared seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jared decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Izakawa fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jared, pushing him back against the cage.

Jared must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Izakawa is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Izakawa tries to strike from the bottom.
Jared in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Jared throws and elbow that misses. Izakawa uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Jared's guard. Nice move by Izakawa!
Izakawa postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Jared stuffs the takedown attempt from Izakawa. Izakawa gets slowly back to his feet.
Jared slaps away a takedown attempt from Izakawa, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Izakawa tries to clinch there but Jared circles away.

and Izakawa counters with a low kick, right behind Jared 's knee.
Jared will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Izakawa is defended easily by Jared.
Izakawa doesn't manage to clinch there - Jared circles away.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Jared's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Jared throws and elbow that misses. Izakawa uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Jared's guard. Nice move by Izakawa!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Jared wants to stand but Izakawa is controlling the position.

Izakawa has closed the distance and engaged Jared in a clinch.
Izakawa using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Jared has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Izakawa has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Jared clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Izakawa has Jared flattened out and is raining down punches.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jared grimaces as he takes a shot to the body.

Jared is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Izakawa has Jared flattened out and is raining down punches.
Johnny Izakawa overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Izakawa landing with strikes.
Izakawa has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Izakawa lands strikes to the head.
Jared looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands.

Izakawa is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Jared with him. Jared is trying to defend but Izakawa has an arm under the chin now! Jared grimaces and is forced to tap out!
