The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Steven Brown and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice leg kick lands there from silva.
silva shoots in but no luck this time.
Durante Jr displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from silva.
Ricardo Durante Jr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
silva dives in and grabs Durante Jr's left leg, looking for a takedown. Durante Jr pushes down on silva's head and hops out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for robbie silva. That's going to take a lot out of him.
silva has managed to clinch.

Durante Jr tries to score a body lock takedown but silva shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
silva breaks the clinch.
silva throws a head kick that half lands.
Durante Jr throws a hook but silva avoids it easily.

and silva counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Durante Jr is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Durante Jr is trying to keep silva in close.
silva tries to free his leg and advance position but Durante Jr is retaining full guard.
Durante Jr thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
silva wants to control from the top but Durante Jr keeps moving.

Durante Jr manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. silva manages to get himself to full guard.
silva is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Durante Jr forces his way into half guard.
silva is trying to stand up here but Durante Jr is controlling him well.
silva wants to get back to full guard.
silva is breathing heavily.
Durante Jr is working for a submission of some sort.

Durante Jr is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and silva defends it well.

Durante Jr has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

silva takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
silva is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Durante Jr with shots to the head and body - silva looks very uncomfortable down there.
Durante Jr has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
