Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Demyan Arkhipov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kodas Tryne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Arkhipov comes to the cage accompanied by Vitas - The Star. Demyan Arkhipov has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Demyan Arkhipov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kodas Tryne!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tryne stuffs the takedown attempt from Arkhipov. Arkhipov gets slowly back to his feet.
Tryne turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Tryne decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Arkhipov has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Tryne drops back, looking for a kneebar! Arkhipov looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Arkhipov looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Arkhipov!

Tryne regains half guard, as Arkhipov was trying to land strikes.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Tryne can do anything to dispel that myth.
Tryne is not content to let Arkhipov control the position.
Tryne is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Tryne changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Arkhipov looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

That was a close second round but I would say that Demyan Arkhipov will probably get the nod.

Tryne moves into the clinch.
Arkhipov has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Tryne is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

and Tryne counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Tryne tries to score a power double leg takedown but Arkhipov sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Tryne somewhat.
