The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Oliveira tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Nielsen smiles and moves away.
Oliveira closes the distance but Nielsen moves to the side

and Nielsen counters with a takedown into side control.
Oliveira wants to control but Nielsen postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Oliveira is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Nielsen is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Nielsen throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Oliveira jumps guard but Nielsen stands there with Oliveira around his waist. Oliveira gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Oliveira jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Nielsen walks away with a smile on his face. Oliveira gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

and Nielsen counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Oliveira has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Nielsen can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Nielsen must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Oliveira is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar!
