The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Petrozian tries to clinch there but Meyer circles away.
Meyer looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Petrozian feints and as Meyer raises his hands in defense, Petrozian changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Petrozian controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Petrozian trying to control but Meyer is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Petrozian is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Meyer is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Meyer can do anything to dispel that myth.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Jorge Petrozian just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Meyer scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Petrozian is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Meyer pulls his head out easily.

Meyer tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Petrozian swivels and escapes.
Petrozian throws a head kick but Meyer moves out of range.

and Meyer counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Petrozian!
Petrozian sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Meyer is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

Meyer is sitting in close to Petrozian's body. Petrozian has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Meyer is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Meyer is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Petrozian.
