Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Salvadore Spectra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joey Path (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Path is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Robert Tepper - No Easy Way Out. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spectra shoots for a takedown but Path saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Spectra drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Path keeping moving, preventing Spectra from controlling successfully.

Spectra drops back, looking for a kneebar! Path looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Path looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Path!

Path looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Spectra is avoiding damage well.

Path is looking for a kimura but Spectra is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Path to get the leverage.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

The fight stays on the outside here - Path looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Spectra is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Spectra escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Path gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Spectra has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Path can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Path must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Spectra is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Path defends well.

Path got a little sloppy there for a moment and Spectra has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Path has managed to get both his arms back between Spectra's legs - danger averted.
