The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
WoodTik shoots in looking for a takedown. Bell tries to sprawl out of it but WoodTik keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bell manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Bell pushes WoodTik off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
You can see the frustration on Bell's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
WoodTik wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bell keeps working.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

WoodTik decides to stand up, so the ref orders Bell to his feet.
WoodTik gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Bell counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in WoodTik's guard now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

WoodTik working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bell doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bell manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

WoodTik had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Bell is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. WoodTik Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Bell's back instead.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

WoodTik is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Bell defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Bell fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with WoodTik, pushing him back against the cage.

WoodTik pulls Bell into guard.

Bell drops back, looking for a kneebar! WoodTik looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. WoodTik looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from WoodTik!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Bell wants to control from the top but WoodTik keeps moving.

Bell is pushing down on WoodTik's leg trying to pass to half guard. WoodTik is fighting to maintain full guard but Bell has managed to sneak the leg through.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Bell wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by WoodTik, who protects the arm well.

WoodTik is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Bell knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
