Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Digger Mcgee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sven Verdek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mcgee comes to the ring accompanied by Carmina Burana. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Sven Verdek was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcgee lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Digger Mcgee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Verdek misses the shot to the body.
Verdek scores with a nice strike.
Mcgee throws a series of punches but Verdek avoids them all with ease.
Mcgee tests Verdek's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Verdek scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Verdek shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

and Verdek counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Mcgee will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Verdek passes Mcgee's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Verdek is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Mcgee doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Verdek.

Mcgee has a hand on Verdek's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Verdek takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Verdek misses with a takedown attempt - Mcgee sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Mcgee is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Verdek has his hands clasped together but Mcgee extends an breaks Verdek's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Mcgee.
