The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ovechkin looks for a takedown but Jones sprawls well.
Jones wants to clinch up but Ovechkin keeps it at a distance.
Ovechkin fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Ivan Ovechkin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ovechkin shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Jones pinned against the cage. Jones gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ivan Ovechkin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ovechkin will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Ovechkin shoots in and drives through. Jones sprawls well.
Ovechkin throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Ovechkin tries to bum rush Jones with a series of wild strikes but Jones uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Jones clinches up with Ovechkin and pushes him back against the cage.
A short body shot lands from Jones as the two fighters clinch.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.

Jones breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jones tries to clinch there but Ovechkin circles away.

Jones takes the fight into the clinch.
Jones will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Ovechkin up against the cage.
Jones lands a body punch in the clinch.
The referee calls for Jones to work.
Jones creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

Jones scores with an uppercut up the middle.

Jones breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Ovechkin throws a right hand that Jones ducks under and follows up with a left that Jones also avoids with ease.
Ovechkin tries for a takedown but Jones sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Jones tries to clinch but Ovechkin moves out of range.
Ovechkin swats away the attempt to clinch by Jones.
Ovechkin keeps the fight on the outside.
The fight stays on the outside here - Jones looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Jones throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Ovechkin.
Ovechkin fails to land with a series of punches.

Jones fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Ovechkin, pushing him back against the cage.

Jones manages to break the clinch.
Jones lunges at Ovechkin with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Ovechkin's hand.

Ovechkin is rocked!

Jones has Ovechkin up against the cage in a clinch.

Oh Ovechkin is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Jones has Ovechkin pushed against the cage.

Jones breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Ovechkin misses with a hook
and Jones counters with a huge left! Ovechkin is in big trouble! He's backing up but Jones isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Ovechkin from any more damage. A dominating finish by Jones!
