Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Damon Stone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Liquid Rage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stone's entrance music is One Step Closer by Linkin Park. A fine choice. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Damon Stone!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Liquid Rage!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rage wants to clinch up but Stone keeps it at a distance.
Rage slips under a jab from Stone.
Rage shoots for a double leg takedown but Stone sprawls well. He's pushed Rage's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Rage shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Stone defends it nicely.
Stone keeps the fight on the outside.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rage misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Rage throws a series of punches but Stone avoids them all with ease.

Rage throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Rage tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Rage is trying hard to land a takedown here. Stone sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Damon Stone has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Liquid Rage.

Rage bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Rage is trying to ground and pound but Stone uses the momentary lack of control by Rage to regain half guard.

Rage thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Stone to regain full guard.
Rage trying to control the position from guard on top but Stone is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Rage drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Stone dives on top into guard.
Stone slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Stone lands a decent elbow from side control.

Rage can't do much from the bottom here.
Stone tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Rage is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Rage on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Stone thows a huge punch but Rage dodges it nicely.
Stone drops an elbow to the side of Rage's head.

Stone is thwarting Rage's attempts to control the position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Rage is looking to control Stone's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Rage avoid being mounted?
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Stone passes the guard and advances to mount!
Rage wants to control but Stone is having none of it.
A nice elbow there by Stone.

Stone goes for an armbar but Rage turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Rage.
Rage wants to stand and escape but instead Stone has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rage tries to clinch but Stone moves out of range.
Rage connects with a looping right hand.
Rage throws a push kick but Stone slaps the foot to one side.

Rage closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Stone gets back to half guard.
Stone works his way to full guard. Good work.

Stone has a closed guard, preventing Rage from standing up.

Stone looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Stone wants to sweep here but Rage controlling him for the moment.
Rage throws and elbow that misses. Stone uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Rage's guard. Nice move by Stone!
Rage is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Rage is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Stone is controlling him.

Rage has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Stone can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Stone throwing strikes but missing.
Rage wants to sweep but no luck.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Stone's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Stone passes Rage's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Stone connects with a nice short shot to Rage's temple.

Stone is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Stone throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Stone seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Stone looks to land a strike but Rage avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Stone stands and throws Rage's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Rage regains half guard, as Stone was trying to land strikes.
Ground and pound from Stone.
Stone working the head and body with strikes.
Stone working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Stone wants to free his trapped foot but Rage is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Rage wants to control but Stone is keeping busy.
Rage makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Rage.
Stone throws a big right hand that misses.
Damon Stone overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Stone avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Stone working some strikes from top position.

Rage escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Stone gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Rage is breathing heavily.
Stone postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Stone shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Rage as he avoids it easily.
Rage lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

and Stone counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Rage's guard now.
Rage looking to hit a scissor sweep but Stone is one step ahead there.
Stone works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Stone is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Stone accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Stone tries to free his leg and advance position but Rage is retaining full guard.
Stone slips nicely into half guard.
Rage misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Stone moves into full mount! Rage won't be happy about that!
Stone is landing with some decent strikes but Rage is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Stone is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Rage takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Rage tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Stone lands with some strikes.
Stone is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Rage can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Rage regains half guard.
Rage is trying to control but can't.
Stone slips a nice elbow through Rage's hands, connecting with Rage's forehead.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Rage moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Stone lands a couple of digs.
Stone works over Rage with some ground and pound from guard.

Rage has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Stone can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Stone makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Stone stops Rage from standing up.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Stone postures up and lands a big shot to Rage's brow.
Stone with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Stone throwing strikes from guard but Rage blocks nicely.
Liquid Rage has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Rage has momentary wrist control but Stone slips an elbow through the middle.

Stone works over Rage with some ground and pound from guard.

Stone is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Rage is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Rage has escaped and now he's on top!
Stone can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Rage controls the pace.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Damon Stone showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Stone, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
