The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Sosuke Kotani.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Suzuki throws a series of punches but Nogueira avoids them all with ease.

Nogueira looking for a takedown here - he's got it.

Nogueira drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Nogueira jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nogueira frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Nogueira is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Suzuki can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Suzuki is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Nogueira looking to control but Suzuki is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Suzuki knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nogueira on the ground.

Nogueira is going olschool here, as he tries to force Suzuki to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Suzuki shrugs it off.

Nogueira is working for a guillotine from mount but Suzuki frees his head quite easily.

Nogueira has hold of Suzuki's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Suzuki manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Suzuki really wants to buck Nogueira off and get back to his feet.

Nogueira is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Suzuki is forced to tap! Great finish!
