Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Kenny Smith!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Sam Margolis and James Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cardy throws a head kick but Smith moves out of range.
Smith stuns Cardy with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Smith shoots for a takedown but Cardy saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Cardy avoids the body shot from Smith.
Smith throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Smith throws a sloppy head kick
enabling Cardy to counter with a crisp jab.
Nice body kick there by Smith.
Smith doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Cardy counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Smith looks like he's trying to stand up.
Cardy trying to pass the guard but Smith defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cardy prevents Smith from standing back up.
Cardy wants to stand up but Smith is controlling the position.

Smith makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Smith throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Cardy takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Smith looks gassed!
Smith tries to clinch up but Cardy circles away and keeps his distance.

Smith clinches up with Cardy and pushes him back against the cage.
Cardy drops down looking for an ankle pick but Smith pulls his leg out and moves away.
Cardy throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Smith tries to clinch up but Cardy circles away and keeps his distance.
Cardy shoots in for a takedown but Smith shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Smith throws a sloppy head kick and Cardy moves out of range easily.
Smith pushes Cardy away with a front kick.
Smith scores with a leg kick.

Smith drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Smith decides to stand back up. Smith steps back and let's Cardy get back to his feet.
Smith throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Smith misses with the body kick
and Cardy connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Smith throws a lazy right hand but Cardy sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Smith gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Cardy to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Cardy drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Smith manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Cardy has Smith in his guard.
Cardy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Smith gets to his feet - Cardy follows without any prompting.
Cardy takes a jab right on the kisser.
Smith misses with the body kick

and Cardy counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Smith manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Cardy manages to get himself to full guard.

Smith stands up from guard. Let's bang!
The fighters circling - Cardy throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Cardy avoids a kick to the body.
Cardy steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Smith. That one must have hurt.

Cardy throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Smith was covering up waiting for the punch and Cardy finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Smith can't keep his opponent in guard - Cardy advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Smith is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Smith wants to get back to his feet.

Cardy seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Smith is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
