The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Horrible takedown by Hatton or perhaps it was just good defense by Di Maio which made him look bad.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hatton is defended easily by Di Maio.
Hatton fails to land the takedown.

Di Maio lands a big right hand that sends Hatton crashing to the mat! Di Maio stays standing though and waves Hatton back to his feet!

Di Maio fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Hatton looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

A nice inside leg kick there by Di Maio. That's going to slow Hatton down.
Good leg kick by Di Maio there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hatton drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Di Maio punishes Hatton's body with a nice straight punch.
Di Maio fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Di Maio throws a nice inside leg kick.
Di Maio cracks Hatton with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Di Maio cracks Hatton with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Hatton looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Di Maio finish him?
Oh Hatton is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Di Maio fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Hatton.

Hatton seems to have got his legs back now.
Di Maio is looking to slow Hatton down with leg kicks.
Di Maio lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Paulie Di Maio is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Di Maio lands a nice hook to Hatton's body. Hatton takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Di Maio scores with the left hand. Hatton knows he should have avoided that one.

Di Maio thumps Hatton with a low kick.

Di Maio is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round!Hatton had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Di Maio feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Hatton sprawling to the canvas! Hatton rolls over backwards and springs off the ropes and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Di Maio finish him?!
Di Maio thuds a left hand into Hatton's body.
Di Maio fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Hatton.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Hatton. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Di Maio throws a shot to the body.
Di Maio thumps Hatton with a low kick.
Di Maio comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Di Maio feints and then cracks Hatton's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Hatton down.
Di Maio dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Hatton. That did some damage!
Di Maio lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Di Maio connects with a good right hand that stumbles Hatton. Hatton circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Di Maio scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Hatton sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Di Maio works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Di Maio slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Di Maio scores with a kick to the body.
Hatton drops his hands momentarily. Di Maio doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Hatton staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Hatton doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
