Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Stevie Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Cowen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Walker comes to the cage accompanied by Thugs. Jim Cowen has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Stevie Walker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jim Cowen!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Robert Douchet and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walker darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Cowen tries to score a power double leg takedown but Walker sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Cowen somewhat.

Cowen moves into range and clinches up with Walker.
Cowen is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Cowen misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Walker.
Cowen looking to throw knees to the head but Walker is blocking nicely.
Cowen lands a knee to the head.
Walker is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Walker stops a takedown attempt from Cowen.
Walker managing to block the knees to the body from Cowen.
Cowen tries to pull guard but Walker holds him up against the cage and eventually Cowen drops back down to his feet.
Stevie Walker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jim Cowen.
Walker gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Cowen.
Walker blocks the elbow strike.
Walker wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Cowen has him pressed against the cage.
Cowen missing with knees to the body.
Walker is trying to force a seperation but Cowen has the dominant position.
A frustrated look appears on Cowen's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Cowen has Walker pressed against the cage, preventing Walker from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Walker pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Walker misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Cowen fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Cowen shoots in for a takedown but Walker shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Cowen looks gassed!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Walker circles away from the clinch attempt.
The crowd cheers as Walker lands an impressive looking overhand right. Cowen doesn't seem phased though.
Good exchange - Walker coming out on top.
Walker bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Walker scores with a jab to the jaw.
Walker throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Nice defenses there by Cowen.
Walker lands with a shot to the body.
Stevie Walker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A head kick misses from Walker.
Walker moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.


It looks like Jim Cowen has been cut.
Walker circles away from the clinch attempt.
Walker misses with a jab, cross combination.
Walker darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Walker lands with a kick to the ribs.
Walker punishes Cowen's body with a nice straight punch.
Walker displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.


Cowen is rocked!
The crowd cheers as Walker lands an impressive looking overhand right. Cowen doesn't seem phased though.
Cowen is still on wobbly legs! Can Walker finish him?

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cowen has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Walker.
Jab by Walker.
Stevie Walker is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Cowen takes a shot to the body in his stride.
A jab lands there for Walker.
Walker lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Walker connects with a jab, followed by a picture perfect straight right that sends Cowen to the canvas, out cold! What a finish by Walker!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Stevie Walker!
