PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Justin Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ramon Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alves comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Infected mushroom - Sa'eed kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Jones fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Alves sprawls well initially but Jones persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Alves has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jones is working away from the top position though.

Alves shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jones as he avoids it easily.
Alves shoots for a double leg takedown but Jones sprawls well. He's pushed Alves's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Jones connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Alves some visible discomfort.

Alves is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Jones pushes Alves away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Alves gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Jones is looking for a sweep.
Jones is not content to let Alves control the position.
Jones tries to escape but Alves is in control.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Alves wants to clinch up but Jones keeps it at a distance.
