Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Marco Belfort (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fritz Lukens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marco Belfort! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fritz Lukens! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Gwen Towbar and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lukens clinches up against the cage. Lukens crunches a lovely knee into Belfort's ribcage. Belfort wants to get back to striking at distance but Lukens won't allow it.

Belfort tries to pull guard but Lukens holds him up against the cage and eventually Belfort drops back down to his feet.
Belfort is trying to break free. Lukens jumps into guard, dragging Belfort to the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Belfort looking to pass the guard. Belfort stopping the sweep attempt from Lukens. Belfort sitting in guard, not really doing much. Lukens working for a triangle but Belfort defends it easily.
Belfort drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Lukens dives on top into guard.

Lukens passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Belfort! Belfort is trying to escape the mount.
Lukens has control of Belfort's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Belfort regains control of the situation pretty easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Lukens is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Belfort tries to lock up and control but Lukens gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Lukens lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Belfort sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Belfort lands with a few short shots to the body. Belfort is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Belfort is breathing heavily. Belfort looking for submissions off his back. Belfort is pressing down on Lukens's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Lukens passes easily into side control. Nice work. Lukens sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Belfort is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Lukens trying to control the position but Belfort is working away. Lukens tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Belfort manages to work his way to half guard, despite Lukens's best efforts. Belfort works his way to full guard. Good work. Belfort working for a triangle but Lukens defends it easily.

Belfort is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Belfort has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lukens can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Lukens must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Belfort looking for a sweep. Not yet Belfort, not yet. Belfort looking for a guillotine here but Lukens defends easily.

That was a close round but I would say that Marco Belfort will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!
A left and a right from Belfort both land. Nice combination. Lukens pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Lukens wants to clinch. Lukens tries to clinch up but Belfort circles away and keeps his distance. Lukens misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Lukens keeps control of Belfort as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Lukens lands an elbow that stopped Belfort in his tracks for a moment. Belfort wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Lukens avoids the elbow strike from Belfort, against the cage.
Lukens is breathing heavily. Belfort wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Lukens has him pressed against the cage. Lukens stalling the fight.
Lukens lands a knee to the body.
Belfort tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Lukens smiles and moves away.
Lukens shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Belfort regains half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lukens missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Belfort lands a couple of sideways elbows. Belfort actively working from the bottom here. Lukens wants to pass to mount but Belfort is defending the position. Belfort gets back to full guard.
Lukens passes easily into side control. Nice work. Lukens looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Lukens is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Belfort has escaped the position, nice work there. Lukens working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Lukens is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Belfort knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Lukens looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Lukens tries to move into full mount but can't pass Belfort's legs. Lukens tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Lukens has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Lukens swings around for an armbar but Belfort sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Lukens's guard. Lukens looking for a guillotine here but Belfort defends easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lukens looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Belfort won't allow Lukens to sweep him here. Lukens has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Belfort can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Belfort scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Lukens has Belfort pulled in close to control his posture. Belfort throws a strike but Lukens rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Belfort wants to hit a switch here but Lukens passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Belfort there!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lukens prevents Belfort from getting the reversal. Lukens has control of Belfort's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Belfort regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Fritz Lukens has got the better of the ground game so far. Belfort is looking to get to half guard. BOOM! Lukens connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Belfort is rocked! Lukens is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Belfort has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Oh Belfort is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Lukens looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Fritz Lukens showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Lukens moves into the clinch. Lukens lands a big knee to the head and Belfort goes down! Lukens pounces and finishes the fight with strikes! He jumps to his feet and celebrates with the crowd!
