Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Manuel Caolho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ed Meza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Meza has chosen Lingua de tamandua as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Manuel Caolho!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Daniel Cesar and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Danga de danga de dang - Caolho scores with a four punch combination!


It looks like Ed Meza has been cut.
Caolho dives in and grabs Meza's left leg, looking for a takedown. Meza pushes down on Caolho's head and hops out.
Caolho throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Meza has closed the distance and engaged Caolho in a clinch.
Caolho tries to circle away but Meza has him pinned against the cage.
Meza has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Caolho avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Meza escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Caolho is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Meza.
Caolho slips a straight right by Meza.
Caolho has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Meza.
Meza defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Caolho.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Caolho bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Caolho wants to free his trapped foot but Meza is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Caolho is working for a kimura but Meza is defending it quite comfortably.
Caolho is breathing heavily.
Meza gets full guard.
Meza is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Meza has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Caolho can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Caolho postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Meza is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Caolho, into his guard.

Meza has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Meza has hold of Caolho's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Caolho manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Meza is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Caolho is pushing Meza's head away, looking to escape. Meza manages to hold on to the position though.

Caolho is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Meza has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Meza!

That was a close second round but I would say that Manuel Caolho will probably get the nod.
