Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Petenka Markov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vane Nighthawk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vane Nighthawk has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nighthawk drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Nighthawk decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Markov avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Nighthawk fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Markov.
Horrible takedown by Markov or perhaps it was just good defense by Nighthawk which made him look bad.
Vane Nighthawk seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Markov walks forward, straight into a front kick from Nighthawk.
Markov has a takedown stuffed.
The fight stays on the outside here - Nighthawk looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Nighthawk stands up from Markov's guard - Nighthawk perhaps looking for a knockout.
Markov throws a head kick but Nighthawk moves out of range.

Markov decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Markov is looking to advance position but Nighthawk won't allow it.
Markov wants to control but Nighthawk is keeping him busy.

Nighthawk has one foot on Markov's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Markov forces Nighthawk back against the cage and clinches.
Nighthawk is trying to break free.

Markov is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Nighthawk can't fight it off and eventually Markov manages to take the fight to the floor. Nighthawk looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Markov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Nighthawk swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Nighthawk is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Markov is controlling him.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Markov wants to free his trapped foot but Nighthawk is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Markov throwing shots but Nighthawk is blocking nicely.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nighthawk is trying to stand back up but Markov is controlling him

Markov will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Petenka Markov. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Markov tries to bum rush Nighthawk with a series of wild strikes but Nighthawk uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Markov shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Nighthawk but Nighthawk pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Markov has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
