Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John Harrison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lukus Haas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Haas has chosen Drowning Pool's Bodies as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Harrison!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lukus Haas!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Joseph Jones and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Harrison. No joy for Haas on that attempt.
Haas avoids the body shot from Harrison.
Lukus Haas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Haas looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Harrison is fending him off so far but Haas persists. Nope, Harrison circles away and we're back to standing.
Haas fails with a takedown attempt.
John Harrison has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lukus Haas.
Haas dives in and grabs Harrison's left leg, looking for a takedown. Harrison pushes down on Haas's head and hops out.
Haas shoots in for a takedown but Harrison shows good takedown defense.
Harrison misses with a body shot.
Haas shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Harrison defends it nicely.
Harrison displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Haas.
Haas looks gassed!
Harrison misses with a hook.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A big right from Harrison misses.
Haas shoots for a takedown but Harrison saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Haas moves away from the strike by Harrison.

Harrison shoots in and bounces Haas off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Harrison makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Harrison seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Harrison's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Harrison's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Harrison pushes down on Haas's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Harrison looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Haas won't allow Harrison to pass to mount.
Harrison works his foot free and advances to mount.
Harrison controlling his opponent.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Harrison is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Haas can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Harrison controlling the pace for now.
Harrison looking to finish Haas with some ground and pound. This is bad for Haas!

Harrison is working for a guillotine from mount but Haas frees his head quite easily.
Harrison is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Haas can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Harrison cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Haas flails away from the bottom, looking to strike but he's give an arm to his opponent... uh oh. Harrison wraps up the arm in an instant and pivots for an armbar! Tap or snap time - Haas decides to tap! Lovely submission by Harrison!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). John Harrison!
