The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jenkins closes the distance and clinches.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jenkins just misses with a punch to the body.
Patterson closes the distance and clinches up with Jenkins, looking for a takedown. Patterson pushes Jenkins against the cage but Jenkins circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Horrible takedown by Jenkins or perhaps it was just good defense by Patterson which made him look bad.
Jenkins dodges the punch combination from Patterson.

Patterson throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Patterson throws a body kick that misses.
Jenkins avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

Nick Jenkins showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Jenkins drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Patterson throws a head kick but Jenkins moves out of range.

Patterson wants to control from the top but Jenkins keeps moving.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Patterson lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Patterson throws a series of punches but Jenkins avoids them all with ease.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
